Our small museum has steadily developed over the years since moving into its present home, allowing us to build up our ever-increasing collections. The museum contains extensive archives, documenting all aspects of island life and its history, and a large reference library, both of which are available for research purposes, as well as the objects collection, far more than can be displayed at any one time.
The Museum is open 10am - 4pm Mondays to Saturdays and occasional Sundays between Easter and the end of October. Arrangements can be made for group and school visits outwith these times. Contact [email protected]
The Museum is fully Accredited and a member of Museums Galleries Scotland, but completely independent and run as charitable trust. It is staffed and run by volunteers and although entry is free, we depend entirely on donations.
