Discover the history of Dunoon and Cowal in this mansion home turned independent museum, from Highland clan battles to the Cold War.

The Gothic castle was designed by David Hamilton at the beginning of the 19th century as a holiday home for the then Lord Provost of Glasgow.

Today, you can wander around the immaculate grounds, enjoy a picnic, or peruse the artefacts in the museum.

Open April until October.
