Got six minutes? Enjoy a short story on your next journey

A bus journey can be a chance to take a little time for yourself. This October, we’re supporting Six Minute Reads, an initiative from Edinburgh UNESCO City of Literature in partnership with the National Literacy Trust.

The free digital collection brings together short fiction from writers including Ian Rankin, Val McDermid, Ann Cleeves and Matt Haig, with stories selected to be enjoyed in around six minutes.

Look out for the posters on board our buses. Simply scan the QR code, choose a story and settle in while we take you where you need to go.

You can also download the free Six Minute Reads collection here.

As part of our support for the National Year of Reading, we’re encouraging passengers and colleagues to make a little room for reading in their day. With World Mental Health Day on 10 October, it’s a chance to take a break from scrolling and enjoy a few quiet minutes with a story.

Whether you’re commuting, heading to college or making your way home, a few spare minutes on the bus are a good place to start.
