£2 single bus journeys in Strathclyde (SPT) area

From Monday 07 September, adult and child single fares of £2 or more on our bus services operating in the Strathclyde (SPT) area, will be capped at £2.
The fare will be calculated automatically by the ticket machine, so you don't need to do anything differently when you travel.
What does the £2 fare cap mean?
If your single journey normally costs £2 or more, you’ll pay no more than £2.
The cap applies to West Coast Motors services in the Strathclyde (SPT) area, mainly service 15 and 17, and includes services operated on behalf of Scottish Citylink and Stagecoach (service X19).
For Scottish Citylink services, this means:
- Journeys within the SPT area will show a £2 single fare.
- Journeys travelling across both the SPT and Hitrans areas will show a £4 single fare.
What isn't changing?
The £2 fare cap applies to single fares only.
Return fares and day tickets are not changing, including day tickets purchased on bus or through the West Coast Motors app.
The £2 fare cap is part of an interim Scottish Government-funded fare scheme. The scheme is subject to the terms and duration set by the Scottish Government.
