Supporting our communities

2 months ago Tue 31st Mar 2020

As a key service in your community, bus is for many the only way to access shops for food, prescriptions and other basic essentials. It also provides a vital service for critical and essential workers.

Free travel for NHS During this difficult time, we are offering free bus travel for all NHS workers. This is available by presenting a valid NHS card to our driver.

What we are doing in your community We are working in partnership with Argyll and Bute Council to look at a number of ways to ensure we are still providing a service to those who most need it.

Information on current service levels are available from our website. We would also recommend our journey planner for individual trips.

Locally, in some areas such as Campbeltown, Ardrishaig & Dunoon we are working with local communities and offering a delivery service for those most vulnerable. This is an area we expect to further develop as more people self-isolate and to reduce the growing pressure on local pharmacists and food shops.

Ready Scotland As part of the government’s Ready Scotland initiative, for preparing and dealing with emergencies, many communities are now creating their own emergency plans.

We would ask those local groups and businesses involved in developing a plan to contact our local managers. Now more than ever, we play an important role in supporting the communities we serve. Any type of delivery service would be co-ordinated through community groups and local businesses only.

Contact the team  Every community will differ in the support required. For more info please contact our local managers:

Campbeltown Clare Little, [email protected]

Ardrishaig Robert Mackay, [email protected]

Oban Russell Dods [email protected]

Mull Adrian Fitness, [email protected]

Dunoon Graham Bryce, [email protected]

Bute Jamie McGuigan, [email protected]

Spread our word To get this important information to reach our customers we would ask each of you to share our updates on your social media and local Facebook pages and, if possible, update those who are not online. Thanks in advance.

Safety remains our number one priority and we continue to urge customers to listen to the government’s instruction and only travel if essential.
